Message from the IAPM President

Dear Esteemed Members of IAPM,

The Indian Association of Pathologists & Microbiologists (IAPM), established in 1949, is the premier professional body representing the discipline of pathology in India. Having celebrated its Platinum Jubilee in 2024, the association continues to serve as an important platform for academic exchange, research advancement, and excellence in diagnostic pathology.

The annual conference APCON is the flagship event of the association for professionals in pathology and microbiology. It features workshops, orations, CMEs, slide seminars, and research presentations by talented young pathologists. Each year, APCON stands as the most awaited event for members and reflects the continuous growth and commitment of the pathology community across decades and generations.

Following the successful completion of APCON 2025, we now eagerly look forward to APCON 2026 – the 74th Annual Conference of IAPM, which will be hosted in the vibrant city of Coimbatore, popularly known as the “Manchester of South Asia.”

The organising committee led by Dr. Srinivas and Dr. Shanthakumari has already begun working tirelessly to make this conference a memorable and enriching academic event. The registration fees have been thoughtfully designed to remain affordable, with the early registration slab maintained at the same price as earlier years to encourage participation from members across the country.

The Central Academic Committee is committed to developing a scientific program that benefits both senior stalwarts and brilliant residents. The program is designed to explore an integrative and multidisciplinary approach in pathology — from phenotypes to genotypes. Special emphasis has been given to the next generation through dedicated sessions for young pathologists, moderated and actively participated in by them.

As President of this prestigious association, I feel honoured and privileged to welcome you all in large numbers to this august event. I extend my best wishes to the organising committee for a great success and a memorable conference experience.
