Message from the Hon. Secretary, IAPM
It gives me great pleasure, as the Honorary Secretary of the Indian Association of Pathologists and Microbiologists (IAPM), to extend my heartfelt greetings and best wishes to the organizing team of APCON 2026. The annual meeting of the IAPM has become a cornerstone event, fostering the spirit of continuous education and professional growth among pathologists and microbiologists, not only in India but throughout the Asia-Pacific region.
APCON 2026 will serve as an invaluable platform for sharing advances in diagnostic techniques, research and developments, medical education and practice ethics and methodology. The current office bearers and academic committee are committed to making APCON's scientific programs unique, inclusive, and beneficial for both trainees and trainers, as well as practicing pathologists.
This year, we are introducing several new segments, including a beginner’s café, short and focused sessions worth attending for postgraduates, panel discussions, brainstorming sessions, moderated slide seminars, seminars on timely topics, and CMEs.
Founded in 1949, IAPM has created a legacy of its own. It has nearly 7,000 active members and is growing day by day. We are also expecting a phenomenal increase in member participation at APCON 2026 and would like to invite faculty members from peripheral centers to present challenging cases they have encountered in moderated slide seminars, with an expert panel available to address their questions and clarify best practices.
APCON 2026 is sure to be academically engaging, and we are confident that Dr. B.H. Srinivas, Organizing Chairperson, Dr. S. Shanthakumari, Organizing Secretary, and their team from PSGIMS&R, Coimbatore, will leave no stone unturned to make this academic meet unique.
I appeal to all members, practicing pathologists, and trainees to join hands with IAPM and witness this transformation and give us ideas and suggestions during open house meetings.
Together, we will prevail and progress. Jai Hind!
With best wishes,
Hon. Secretary, IAPM
